8th Sept - More photos!! Thanks to Jo & Matt this time - have to say Bandit & Buzz look great together!
2nd Sep - A great photo from Alison & Family - worth a look!
30th Aug - more photos of Sascha added, from Julie & gang - Thanks guys!
Well Celia's home from Canada, alone.... She says it was real hard leaving Onyx behind, but if you look in Onyx's photo album you will see how well and how quickly she has settled into her new home....and country!
Lee is a keen footballer, but we reckon he will soon have some stiff family competition, as you will see in this 3 min video!
Interesting to see how scared she was at the first sight of the ball, then the nose touching it and running away at top speed, just in case! Then how quickly her confidence builds, until she could aim for a place in Lee's team - as goalkeeper!
Just received an amazing set of photo's from Julie!! Well worth a look in Sasha's album
Thanks to Julie John & Shane for your efforts - come on other owners, send us some photo's - PLEASE!!!!
Well that final day has come, the last pup to leave has now gone...... Well left Mum Kola & Sister Kizzi that is...... We took her to Gatwick this morning for her long long flight to our Son in Canada...... Celia is flying with her on the same aircraft, so will be there to collect her some 12 hours after leaving her..... a very big day for a tiny girl....... Never were the words 'Bon-Voyage' More Appropriate!
Will post an update on here tonight when I know she is safe and sound!... Meanwhile, some photo's are ready to view in her photo album! We find these albums are best viewed as a slide-show.
11:15pm Update...... All is well and they have arrived safely..... Onyx taking it all in her stride.....of course... whata brave girl! All she's gotta do is learn to bark Canadian, she is already very good at the English version!!!
Back after our break,and Khaos has today left to be with his new family.... Photo's in his album ready to view!
Which just leaves us with little Kracker, destined to go to our son Lee & Jen in Canada, who we must now start calling by her pet name of Onyx!
She cannot fly until 10 weeks old so we have her for another 10 days or so.
As you can see she is missing her little brother some, they began to form a great relationship, however, big Sis Kizzi has come to the 'rescue' and is providing the hugs, and play-fights as required!
Have to say... just one pup here feels very very strange!
Two more departures today. Firstly Alison & Nig collected Cracker (Klassic), having a 10 hours round trip to do so, poor them! However we kinda think she is worth it, and they obviously did too!.
Then later Pauline & Chris collected Shadow (Kodi), who decided a bit of gardening was in order just before they arrived! You would not belive the mees a pup can get into in about 2 mins. flat!!! First time we've had to give a quick bath before departure!
Photo's in their albums of course, also some of Kub's journey home to Sark in his album!
Ok An early (for us) at home Sunday roast today as its not really practical to leave the pups alone for too long. So we thought, a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon, the wine already chilled........
However........
Someone has just learnt how to bark... no no, we really mean *B*A*R*K* !!!!!!
Yea you might haves guessed who..... Ms. Klassic, of course!!! So picture us, TV up loud, ear plugs in place 'enjoying' the antics...... HELP!!!! indeed ;-)
A Short Video of Kizzi and the 4 remaing pups, she is simply wonderful with them and we fear will miss them as much as us! Anyway, Enjoy!.......> Kizzi's 'Training'!
7am - Nice early message from Jo & Matt on our guestbook, thank you! We both think Bandit is a terrific name & suits master Karbon very well;-). Photo's have been promised soon!
12 noon - Phone call from Fiona, just arrived home on the island of Sark and all is well.... very well in fact!.. Little Kub was not sick at all on his long long journey by car and two boats, took it all in his stride we're told... well would expect nothing less of him of course ( but shhhh....secretly are well chuffed;-)
3pm - & Oh Dear! Just had an e-mail from Shane..... poor Sascha has been stung by a wasp this morning... Awwww poor thing, bet she's getting lots of extra love! Some photos have been promised later - Thanks!
Its so nice to hear from the new owners so soon, we are so grateful, and eases the pain of their departure no end, it was VERY strange coming down to just 4 pups this morning!
Couple of photo's added to the 2nd litter album from yesterday!
Well the time has come..... and to be very honest, the pups are ready to go and forge their own new lives. Least thats what we keep telling ourselves. A wonderful 7+ weeks with them and if we said this didnt hurt we'd be lieing.
First to go today is Karbon ( Kolakin-Komic); soon followed by Kub (Kolakin-Kub), and then later, Kuddles (Kolakin-Kayliegh), & we're sat here waiting for Jo & Matt to arrive, really we dont mind how long it takes!
New individual photo albums are already prepared on the album page, it will be updated as soon as each go, so please, keep watching!...... And maybe spare us a thought.... that bottle of wine in the fridge dont stand a chance tonight.... ok.... bottle(s) ;-)
Well no need for too much 'commentary' today,... the pictures show it all! Great fun had by all!
And then after an hour or more..... A question from Josh & Shannon.......
Nanna, Grandad... Why do the puppies get so tired, so quickly? !!!....
Actually, We think our grandchildren have a new vocation!!!
We hope we don't bore you with these 'play' videos, but to be honest we can, and do, watch the antics of these pups for ages!.
First part of this video shows the play outside earlier today, Obviously the prize of the day was a lump of cardboard, extra points awarded if you'd ripped it off the box yourself!
Then 1/2 way through the video, this evening, playing with the most tolerant sister in the world, Kizzi! As we have mentioned before, the interaction with Kizzi and her tolerance and patience with the pups we find truly amazing, hope you do too!
Enjoy!..........
Its 6:45pm and all is now very quiet!!
It wasn't a couple of hours ago though;-)) Take a look at this!........
Yup 'we' were on our way to the vets to get jabbed & chipped, which caused universal protest! The screams and chants on the way were better than any police siren - and louder!! Nobody got in Celia's way ;-)
However once in the vets they really were as good as gold, our vet 'Stuart' was very impressed not only with their general condition and size, but temperament as well! Everybody got a full examination, all passed with 'flying colours'!
The innoculation jab is something of nothing these days with a very small needle, nobody seemed to notice! The needle that has to be used to insert the micro-chip is however not so small, and some discomfort cannot be avoided. But guess what... not one single murmur from our very very brave guys and girls, how impressive is that!!!
Lastly we are so happy to report that Stuart was delighted with Kola's condition after raising 7 puppies just 6 weeks ago, rarely he said does a bitch look so good with a healthy shiny coat, good shape, and although we thought her a little thin, he said he'd seen much much worse! Asked about letting her have another litter, his comment was 'why not'! she copes so welll, is such a good Mum to all her offspring, does not suffer any bad 'after effects' and is still quite young.... 'Go for it' was his comment, so who knows........ maybe Chief will get to see his 'best girl' again, sometime next year..... watch this space!
OK another video to watch, their last worming before they leave. A word of warning for you all! Because of the rain today we had to keep them indoors afterwards, so we suggest turn your volume DOWN!!!! We wish we could have ;-). If you think this is noisy, just think you only listen to it for less than 4 mins.... Try 10-12 hours non-stop!!!
Are we moaning?........ Nah!
Anyway, Enjoy!.........> 6 Week Worming..
Hi Everyone, more preparation for the 'great departure' next weekend, so much so we have missed out on our regular Sunday pub lunch... Damn should have added that to the bill ;-)
Each pup had their photo taken this morning. We required a 'cool, laid-back' photo for the book cover that accompanies each pup. Yea.... right,..... easy huh?.... Well it only took about 3 hours to get a shot of each one sitting still! This lot could show the 'Duracell bunny' what energy really is!!!!
Well these photos are kinda for the new owners only. However we decided to put them on the photo album page, 2nd litter album, but, just for fun (or tease;-), for the new owners.... find your pup!!! Yup each photo won't be identified until next week!!!
Hope you all enjoy guessing ;-)
Say Hi to 'almost sticky-up ears' Kracker!!
As you can hopefully see her ears are on the way up!..... Well at least the base bit is. the other 'flappy' bit has its moments, but the camera (or cameraman) is not quick enough to catch it, but it won't be long before the whole ear is up we're sure!!!
A very good sign at this early age. All the other pups are not far behind, but Kracker leads....well she is the oldest;-)
BTW - We just love the 'What Me?' look on her face, don't you?!!!
We are delighted that all requested Kennel Club names submitted have been accepted!
So pleaed all but one owner got their first choice (Sorry for the one name that was rejected, nothing we can do about it regretfully).
So now its official...... In order of birth.....
Lee & Jen.................... - Kolakin Kanada ( Onyx )
Fiona & David.............. - Kolakin Kub
Julie, John & Shane..... - Kolakin Kayleigh (Sascha)
Alison & Nigel.............. - Kolakin Komet (Cracker)
Jo & Matt..................... - Kolakin Komic
Pauline & Chris............ - Kolakin Khan ( Shadow)
Roger.......................... - Kolakin Khaos
The official 5 generation pedigree's arrived this morning, so we will set about getting them laminated all ready for the collections next weekend! - Not long to go now!!
Well another video to watch of the pups at play. We hope not to bore you all, but we can simply watch their fun and games all day..... especially when you take one comic pup and the best 'toy' in the world.... an old cardboard box! However it seems today's 'prize possession' was an old plastic food carton, great fun....and it made a noise when chewed as well!
Oh gosh, we're sure gonna miss all this at the end of next week:(((
Anyway, please enjoy, click here! ------->More Playtime!
Well there is lots for us to do in the next couple of weeks, you'd be surprised the amount of time all the paperwork and preparation of the (almost;-) famous 'puppy packs' takes!!!
So we thought we'd give the new owners a little preview of all the framed photo's of YOUR puppy hugging Mum Kola. It won't take long to sort out the girls from the boys here....but just who is who???... Oooooh now that would be telling ;-) hehehe
Lastly here is a short video of them playing this afternoon (14th July) You will see how much rougher the play has become and how much stronger they are, however they all remain friends and rarely do we have to intervene! 50secs into the video someone made the mistake of picking on little Kracker... who is still the smallest pup... Keep watching 15 secs later we think they regretted their choice, little she might be, but she doesn't take 'any prisoners'!!! Typical girl then, huh guys;-)
Anyway hope you enjoy.... click here ---> Playtime
Say Hi To Jo, everyone! Initially Jo contacted us just too late to be able to get one of these lovely pups. However we had kept an 'option' ourselves to keep one, but after lots of thought and debate (and yea...ok..wine;-) We decided to offer the remaining pup to Jo & Matt, as we knew how much they wanted him! As you can see she seems to be slightly pleased by our decision! He will be joining 'Buzz', Jo & Matt's 3 year old G.S.D - Who is pure white! What a great pair they will make! Congrats to you both, and thanks to you for giving 'our man' a wonderful, loving home!
Well we're there, eventually! The worst job in breeding these adorable puppies is trying to give all their lovely new owners the pup of their choice. With the first litter we were lucky it worked out perfectly, this time around , well it almost worked and the owners who didn't get first choice have been very gracious in their understanding, so a very big 'thank you' to them. We've done it ourselves in the past, placing great emphasis on the choice of pup but honestly from this'side' living and breathing these pups lives as we have, there really is very little to choose between them!!!
Anyway, here we go......
Fiona & David - Kub ( Applied for K.C. name Kolakin Kub) Pet name .... T.B.A.
Pauline & Chris - Kodi ( Applied for K.C. name - Kolakin Khan) Pet name ...Shadow
Roger - Khaos ( Applied for K.C. name Kolakin Khaos) Pet Name .....T.B.A.
Lee & Jen - Kracker ( Applied for K.C. name Kolakin Kanada) Pet name.... Onyx
Alison & Nigel - Klassic ( Applied for K.C. name Kolakin Komet) Pet name.... Cracker
Julie, John & Shane - Kuddles ( Applied for K.C. name Kolakin Kayleigh) Pet name... T.B.A.
Jo & Matt - Karbon ( Applied for K.C. name Kolakin Komic) Pet name...Tigger! (Maybe!!!)
Well in this cooler, better for them, weather the pups have been outside all day... from 6am waking to after 9pm tonight....and you can see the result!!
Typical of German Shepherds, they just love the outdoors, and now we have 'secured' our patio, with barbed wire, sentry posts, search lights, and shotguns, ( OK exageration, but it kinda seems that way!), they can be left a little bit more often on their own, a relief not only for us, but mum Kola as well!
Another video to watch, just a few mins of their now busy lives! Playing and fighting have replaced the long sleep periods....lucky us!!! You will see how tolerate Kizzi is with the pups, she loves them to bits, and they her.... We are slightly concerned how she will cope when they have all gone in a couple of weeks, we reckon no better than us!!
Well, get comfy... video is 4.1/2 mins of puppy-fun, hope you enjoy it....
This is 'She Who Can Do No Wrong', ........apparently!
Little Miss Perfect ( OK.... Kracker) taking advantage of 'Rank'!! on our sofa!!!
As most of you know, she is destined for Canada Where our son Lee & his Wife Jen & baby Benjamin now live. Also it seems impossible to get her there any other way than by a personal delivery by Celia, all this taking around 10 days........ Hmmmm indeed... I 'sus' a con!! ;-)
However... her 'reign' didn't last very long! Mr. Kub decided to join the exclusive ranks! Hmmm. what was on his mind, we wonder!
We're sure the others would have joined in but... there was all these play-fights to win ;-)
Well no photo's or video today, the title above tells why! Although we must say the Pups were quite happy to be outside when allowed (after each feed is a good option;-), and the fact it was heavy rain never seemed to cross their minds...... proper German Sheherds they are now ya know! More photos tomorrow we hope!
Nah! Not really!!! Still this short video shows how much more interactive the pups have become over the last few days......Except at one point that is when Ms. Kracker decided it was necessary to make an individual approach......in her own time, well she is the most 'senior' pup if still the smallest (just!)!!!!
Afterwards you will see they have a full set of teeth and know what they are for... we will show the scars later ;-)))
Anyway, this is quite a short video, hope you enjoy it!........

'Well Its a tough job for all new owners! We know all these puppies have the potential to make fantastic pets, but understandably people like to choose their favourite! This gives us the unenviable task of trying to give everyone the pup of their choice! With the 1st litter we were lucky, it worked out well, and of course our aim and desire is to do the same this time. We promise to do our best and are hopeful every owner will be happy with the result. Once all the allocations are made we will e-mail everyone, then publish the results on here.
So Lets say Hi to Fiona (left) & Pauline (right). Both these lovely people have waited a whole year for their pups as they both contacted us just too late when Kola had her first litter to get a pup then. We sincerely thank them for their patience waiting for so long! Pauline lives in Essex where two of Kola's first litter live, but Fiona travelled by ferry, plane, train, and car all the way from Sark, in the Channel Islands, just to see her future boy, we are very impressed!
Well as you can see 'we' have a new pastime! Chews kindly donated by Kola & Kizzi (we think its just a loan;-)
The pups now have a full set of tiny teeth, our fingers and toes can vouch for that, so it seemed a good idea to let them lose on these chews! OK not too much success but they did try really hard with them, and all good stuff... Chewing (the right things!),is useful exercise that cant be started too soon, strengthening their jaws and teeth,of course, but also strengthens the muscles that helps the erection of their ears in a few weeks!
As you can see We now think toys are fun! This photo shows Kodi & Karbon having a tug-of-war, with Kub playing referee!!!
Quite what the girls were doing we're not sure.... their hair, or make-up maybe ;-))))
We noticed today a great improvement in their co-ordination, our babes can actually run, with most of the legs going in the right direction, most of the time! The 'brakes' however leave something to be desired, the 'ABS' doesn't seem to work too well!! Still who needs 'stopping distances' - that's what Brothers & Sisters are for!!!!
Hi!
OK!!! Bonus! Two video's to watch!. If we may, just a comment first about the video to follow......! This video was taken 'as was', nothing planned nothing 'set up'. The interaction, not only between Sister Kizzi and the pups, but the acceptance of Mum Kola we find amazing, and quite wonderful! In case of doubt, Kizzi is the 'interactive' one, generally on the left, in the video. Against many 'expert' opinions let nobody try to tell us there is no 'relationship' going on here between Mother & Daughter!
Enjoy.......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4qq17xEPbk
Four weeks old today! So time for another worming session.... Please note how brave and simply wonderful our pups are ;-)
PS - Are we enjoying every second with them.???....OH YES!!!!
Enjoy...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTEu5YhU75w
Finally, it was another very hot day.....so time to find some shade and chill-out for all..... as you can see!
Kola Left, Kizzi Right, Pups....well wherever they 'dropped' ;-)))
Sorry... No photo's & no video today! Can we please call it 'Our Day'? Its now 9pm, its still 83F!!, & we're sat on the patio about to eat our evening meal... with seven now energetic pups around our feet..... wonderful! Its been so hot today, peeking at an almost unbelivable 97F, the pups, Kola, Kizzi, and indeed, us have found it hard to cope.
Kola has now sought 'refuge' in the conservatory, deputising Kizzi once again to 'supervise' and 'moderate' the pups where necessary, gosh we have no doubt about her future maternal capabilities! More tomorrow we promise.....much more! Nite Nite (yea......some chance;-)
OK lots of things all happening at once here!. Kola is beginning to lose interest in feeding her pups, and feeling all those needle-like teeth of the pups who could blame her!!!! The pups are beginning to happily drink from Kola's & Kizzi's water bowl, and here is something we found amazing....... from the tiniest pup, Kola has always had a 'thing' about dipping a paw in her water bowl.. and its always her left paw! Well tonight just one pup did exactly that! So whoever has Kodi. all we can say is......good luck!!!!
OK another very hot day here today, well into the 90F's! So what better opportunity than to introduce the pups to water-play! The following video is a long one, so prepare yourselves with drink in hand! It starts with a feed session but then fun with some water! All good stuff for their future, the sooner they get used to water the better, both Kola & Kizzi are brilliant swimmers!
The 'clean up' afterwards is multi-purpose.... it gets them used to being 'wet', cleans the bits of food off the pups, cools them down in this heat, but also gets them used to being handled so all part of that steep learning curve they have just started!... Oh also, its a helluva lots of fun for us!!!!
Enjoy..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cA7pEGdtMUM
.
Well the heat continues! This afternoon peaked at 95f, and that was in the shade! The pups really dont like it much and are understandably a bit lethargic, doesn't stop the constant P & P'ing;-) and demands on Mum for a feed!
So, as you can see we put them outside for maximum fresh air, but kept in the shade, with a fan on full blast to help keep them cool! At the peak of the heat we washed them down with tepid water....which they truly loved! Will try for a video of that if its as hot tomorrow!
So, onto this evening, its cooled right down..... only 80F now!!!! But it seems cool enough for a bit of play fighting. Hope you enjoy the video, it's a quick one at under 3 mins, but hopefully gives you an idea on how much the pups have developed, and also how strong they now are!!!!!
Enjoy!....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uZ5cyETogc
The photo says it all really!
A very 'laid-back' day for us all, very hot and humid here for those viewing from overseas, and the pups do not cope too well with the heat, so lots of sleeping with the occasional wake to feed, and a quick hug, if we're lucky!
A Visit this afternoon from Roger & his lovely children, Harry & Sydney As you can see the pups liked them as well! Soon to be two new very proud owners we think!
Well our 'babes' have some discomfort today, poor things......
Feeling their gums, we can feel those sharp needle-like teeth poking through.....It must hurt, poor things, but of course, chewing the bars of the puppy pen probably helps!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And now a another video...
'JUST ANOTHER DAY' !!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZvnefAd5xs
Couple of things to note, if we may. Video starts with a bit of pup 'interaction', then they play with Mum Kola a bit......But then from 2 mins. into the video, its all about the pups.... and Sister Kizzi!!!
The whole thing was 'supervised' by Kola, not more than a couple of feet away, Kizzi only needed to be 'checked' by us the once, as you will hear. There is no question, she absolutely adores the pups, showing wonderful maternal instincts, at such an early age as well. Even more amazing is her Mum's seemingly total trust in allowing her to care for her babies! We are truly enamoured and amazed!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of the best things about breeding these pups is to watch the speed of development, without exaggeration, every single day brings something new about them.
Today was a special day, as 'we've' gone from not wanting to be handled for to long, to a kinda "Oh OK, if you must' attitude..... to late this evening.....real love and snuggles!! When you pick them up, they now look at you, sniff you, you even get a sloppy lick with those over-sized tongues, if your 'lucky';-)
Yea, we know... tough job this, but well someone has to do it! A message to all the new owners.... You will be amazed at the changes in your pups since your last visit, and as you know, you are most welcome to come and see them anytime, we are just a phone call away.....(OK bit further than that for some, sorry!)
12 midnight update..... We just had our 1st escapee!! Master Kub made it out of whelping box all by himself!. We kinda suspect he had a little help.... piggy-backing off a few brothers and sisters!.... The escape didn't last long..... but we're sure he was smiling as he rejoined the others!!!
UPDATE - Friday! - Well what a greeting this morning..... 5am, but who cares about that! All pups were sitting up waiting for breakfast, and after almost demanded an individual hug....Awwwwww!
A Few more Photo's added to the 2nd Litter album.......and also there's these!.......
Well we are begining to think we should have place-mats and serviettes for this lot.... They are so well mannered!
At least.... its starts that way!
Of course bits of food nicked 'n' licked off your sisters ear tastes much nicer!
And after it was Kizzi on clean-up duty..... While Mum Kola looked on.... and provided the desert course for those who wanted it!
Thought you all might enjoy one of our daily routines! As you can see weights have to be taken quickly...and as a 'mean average' with these wriggly monsters!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk8MwwTFlOY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And then.... just before bed-time.... 'Steak & Chips' ( well almost - liquidised puppy kibble & well cooked lean mince!).
This shows their first taste of solid food. Little Kracker led the way, but they all knew what to do with it! We were amazed how quite they were! Remembering back to the first litter, the first couple of 'tray meals' were more for playing with than eating....but not with this lot!!! Notice afterwards, the clean-up operation , by both Mum & Sister Kizzi!!! .....Enjoy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMkPGmLCsN4
Well we've been 'busy' tonight watching the recording of 'Wife Swap' starring Kerry & Tim who had one of Kola's first litter girls, 'Roxy'. We think there must have never been a 'reality show' that has featured a pet so much!!! It took just 2 mins into the show for Roxy to make an appearance, and she appreared it seemed every few mins throughout the very entertaining, but emotional show.... Well done to Kerry & Tim.... we think you are much braver than most!.
Pups are all well, of course...... Mum is getting a bit tired of the fighting at feed time.......so tomorrow night will be their first taste of something a little different!... watch this space;-).....................
A Very welcome visit from our friends Suzie & Mike today, They have Otto, one of the boys from Kola's 1st litter. Of course it was down to the pub for lunch & these three were impecably behaved, getting lots of well deserved attention!
Left to Right its Otto; Kola; & Kizzi!
Back home and look what happened! Can't blame Suzie one bit, these pups are all adorable! Actually a nice warm afternoon, this was the pups first 'taste' of fresh air - Mum supervising the whole occasion, as you can see!
Then it was time to introduce Otto to his new brothers and sisters! He was amazing showing very gentle interest in them, so much so that even mum Kola was happy for him to look - Very unusual especially as he's a boy! - Well done Otto!
GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!
And they did.....all four of them!!!!
.
HERE COME THE GIRLS!
Look!, all luvey-duvey and almost you could say ......
STRIKE A POSE!
AND NOW....THE BOYS!
Chance for a bit of a rough-'n'-tumble going on here....very fast shutter speed was required!
Yea, Well.. posin' for photo's IS a girls thing.....right!!!
Hi, Everyone! 1st off we'd like to thank you all for regularly checking back onto this site - our 'hit-count' has gone through the roof, thanks to you lot, and its much appreciated!!
OK to business! A busy evening, first off the regular weigh-in, all good with an average weight now around 1.6kg!!!, then followed a photo session...... exclusive photo's for all the new owners of their new pup hugging Mum!
Then... it was time for the 1st worming session, The worming medicine is classed as 'palatable' and its fascinating to see the pups reaction to a new taste, up to now it's only been Mum's milk! As with the 1st litter, it was the girls who were the 'drama queens', the guys just taking it 'like a man'.........Of course;-)
All videoed of course, and we were very much 'supervised' throughout.....and NOT by 'Mum' as you will see!!!!
OK here we go..... please enjoy these little bundles of life as much as we are!........
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uTiemox3_U
Sorry for not updating the site for tha last two days, but it wasn't our fault! The web-host had a major software glitch and had to restore around two millon web-sites from back-ups!!!! Anyway were back, and all is well.... Ave weight last night was 1.5kg!!!
OK there is a video to view..... Nothing extra special..... just a day in the life of a very busy Mum... and seven demanding 'kids' ...... Get a drink and a sandwich.... its over 5 mins long!...... Enjoy!........
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtQBHkQ1Kus
.
Well Alison asked if we could send photo's of the two remaing girls, as she lives the other end of the country and cannot visit before collection. This we are happy to do for any new owner! This picture we counldn't resist putting on the site..... Kuddles & Klassic together! Both as sweet as each other of course... Good luck Alison. it will be so hard to choose!
Congratulations to Kodi!
Somebody had to be first - just look at those beautiful blue (but not-for-long) eyes!
We are sure all the others will not be far behind, but this clever chap is the first to have his eyes permanently open..... OK now to get those ears working!!!
All pups are well...... FANTASTIC! (of course we're not biased;-)
Weigh-in results = ave 1312grm + 226% from birth!
.
Well Mum has just given them a big feed..... all is well and they are so peaceful, so w'ere sneaking off to the pub for an early and quicker than ususal Sunday lunch!, Kola & Kizzi invited as usual of course!!
Back home soon to welcome another two prospective owners, Pauline and then later, Roger.
We hope you can see in this photo just how much bigger they are, the increase really is noticable day by day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6pm Update! Average weight is now 1198 grm = +197%!!!.......... AND -
We have our first 'Pet' name! Following a visit from Pauline and Chris, although its too early for anyone to choose their actual pup, whatever boy they eventually have, he is to be called 'Shaddow' - Great name choice you two!
If any other owners to be who have paid their deposits have already chosen a pet name, then please let us know so we can add it to the list - Thanks!
Hi! Well the first video of the pups 'chanting' is now available. Shot when they were just six days old, sorry for the delay in uploading, but its been a kinda busy time!
Anyway, here it is.... hope you enjoy!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rq0iMIX7fE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok! at 1:45 today we noticed a lot of activity! Quickly grabbing the camcorder we managed to catch one of the pups 1st 'steps' kinda!
The clip shows Klassic the first pup to get up on all fours, not easy with loads of brothers and sisters getting in the way, let alone Mum deciding it was time for a wash! Then Khaos seemed to notice all the action, and obviously wasn't going to be outdone by a mere girl!............... ENJOY!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjtlWmgUB6k
7pm update..... average weight is now 1113grm = 176% gain since birth! 'porky-pups'!!
.
This is our Grandson Benjamin & little Kracker getting acquainted! "Can we really take him home to Canada Mum?" !!!.......... Well we're kinda thinking its a 'done deal' - don't you!!!!
Kracker may still be the smallest pup but it was love at first sight with Jen!
Weigh-in update - now average gain is 155% - it just gets better!
Well thats what the daily weigh-in has become! We were too busy wrestling wriggly pups to catch it on camera, but Kola lays near the scales ready to receive each pup after weighing, allowing them to feed while they recover from the 'ordeal'; Kizzi is right by the scales, sniffing each pup and stealing the odd lick when she can (she adores them!), and Jaz the cat holds position under the scales table...... obviously in charge of the entire operation!
Oh, yes of course! Average gain is now 137%, three pups over 1 kilo now, others not far behind!
.
What can we say?... Well modesty to follow, maybe;-)
The pups tend to 'group' now in two's and three's, If someone loses out and gets left behind, we sure hear about it, very quickly!
Main news of the day is that the average weight gain from birth is 114% with the smallest gaining over 120%, so she's catching up fast!!! Fantastic - well done Mum!
As you can see, Kizzi is totally fascinated by the pups, and Mum Kola allows her now to do much as she pleases!
Her approach to the puppies is 'reserved', gentle, and respectful.... and that is not our normal Kizzi!!!!
Both very interesting and fascinating to observe!
Bigger & Better each day! Tonights weigh-in results shows an average gain of 94% The standard recommendation is double the birth weight in the first week, so they are more than on target!
All the pups are showing consistent gain, whatever their birth-weight!
Kracker is still smallest, followed by Kub, but they seem to be the noisiest when Mum decides its feed time - a very god sign!
Interestingly, as with the first litter it is a girl, Klassic, who's biggest, but we expect all the pups to equalise in a couple of weeks plus when they start on some puppy gruel.
.
Well This is the 'norm' now! The pups are happy to be left alone, Kola happier for the break we're sure!! She had her first walk since the birth today, not too far, but she really enjoyed it!
Not that she abandons them in any way, and distress calls (usually because someone has wriggled to far away from the rest) and she's there quicker than we are! Also of course the regular visits to feed... and clean, a mothers work is never really done!
Not sure if this photo shows it well, but they are MUCH bigger, all of them! Tonights weigh-in shows an average gain of 75% from birth - very impressive!
.
Indeed it has been! This photo says it all really!
Our experience of this litter we are finding is different somehow. Just as gorgeous as the first, of course, but different in ways its hard to explain.
Is it because we've 'been there-done it'?... Or is it because Mum Kola is experienced now and totally confident in her own amazing maternal instincts?
Dunno! But everything is so laid-back and is being reflected by the pups themselves. Kola has spent more time outside the whelping box than in, just going in to feed and 'attend' her pups as required, and thats very different. Kizzi is now allowed to look and get close and again thats so good to see!. The pups are happy to be left, hugging and often just 'chanting' together, amazing to see the earliest hint of Independence from them!
7pm Update!....... Just completed the weigh-in! Average weight is up to 615grm & that's a gain of nearly 53% from birth...... Great progress 'kids'!
Input/Output!!!
For most of today, once again Kola would not leave her pups.... not even to eat! Whata Mum!
.
Then around 5:30pm she decided to take a break from them - who can blame her! - still 'on gaurd' just outside the whelping box though, and as you can see Kizzi sourt comfort by giving Jaz a cuddle!
.
Then came the weight-in time!
As with the last litter, more fuss than your average weight-watchers meeting!!!!
This shows the 'sufferance of Kuddles getting weighed, such a hard life they lead!
However, with an average weight gain of just over 30% since birth, we are very pleased. Its obvious that the pups have a 'high-octane' Mum... all good stuff!
No point in delaying things! The pups have to get used to visitors!
Hello to Jen our Daughter in law, and our new Grandson, Benjamin, just 3 months old! Here on a visit from their home in Canada, They will be having one of the pups!
Ben loved little kracker, and she seemed quite relaxed by the attention, constantly supervised by Mum kola, of course!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6:30pm - 1st Weight check shows good results! All pups gained weight well, even little Kracker, and with an average gain of 11.5%, all is well!
Kola will not let them be away from her side, and is not happy even when we place them in the heater puppy box to give her a break! Whata Mum!!! Kizzi is at least now allowed to 'look', but definatley not to touch!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MIDNIGHT!!
Tired as we both are, and even though we are sleeping in the lounge so as to be with Kola and the pups, for some reason we just couldn't bring ourselve's to go to bed.... Any idea why? ;-)))
This is a shot of 'Kuddles' ( how appropiate!) with Kizzi looking on. As you can see Kizzi is allowed to get quite close to the pups, still following mum Kola's 'rules' of course, but helped by her amazingly gentle approach. One happy family!
.
Hi,
Well day one draws to a close and all is well! Although we all are very tired, humans dogs and even Jaz the cat!
All so much worth it though, an amazing experience!.
Just one small concern. 'Kracker', the first born is a bit smaller than the others. Unusualy the pups got larger each time instead of the normal other way round!
So what you see here is a bit of extra T.L.C. for the little Lass.... 'Exclusive Dining! Just to help things along a bit. We are not too worried, she is very active and noisy, just couldnt compete with her 'bully' brothers and sisters too well, hence the special treatment, and she certainly enjoyed what was on the menu!
In these very early days, it is essential to monitor the pups weight and gains or losses, so we assure all future owners everything is well under control.... tough job but someone has to do it!!! Oh well an early night for all of us tonight, even if it will be regually interupted! More news tomorrow!
Well we kinda THINK thats it!...... Maybe ;-))
Hello Kolakin Kracker
7pm..... We think poor Kola has back-ache. and is lying any-which-way she can to get relief.
As you can see, Kizzi will not leave her side..... still!
It seems her contractions have eased a litttle..... The calm before the storm?....hmmmm. we wonder!
This photo shows the privaliges of pregnancy.... Prime spot on the sofa!!!
Totally Kola's idea, and not normaly allowed! - Rule one of her list seems to have been invoked!
She is one very uncomfortable girl just now, poor thing as I type its 4pm and we think she has had several contractions since this morning. There is no telling how long this will last, it could be another 24 hours...... not much sleep for any of us tonight then!!
This second photo shows how much Kizzi needs to be near her Mum...The degree of extra affection, shown both ways between our dogs has amazed as well as totally pleased us, of course.
Another case of words failing to describe what is going on here, they simply HAVE to be together.....AWWWW. Kola on her regular 'wanders' (to relieve her discomfort she often 'paces'), goes to Kizzi, licking her face and generally showing her love!.... Puts a tear in our eyes to see it! Jaz ( the cat) is not to be left out either, and she jumps into the whelping box whenever Kola lays there! Kola seems so happy to have her there at the moment as well!........ PEOPLE....THERE IS A HELL OF A LOT OF 'LOVIN' GOING ON HERE JUST NOW!!!
Kola says........ I might be 'fat' I might 'waddle' rather than walk BUT.......... No reason not to turn up at our regular garden table for Sunday lunch! ...Notwithstanding all the extra fuss and attention she gets! |
We are rather surprised, and very pleased to say that Kizzi's relationship with Mum Kola has noticeably changed over the last week. Although they have always got on well... now Kizzi wants to be close to Kola constantly, laying by her, licking her, and also has become much more gentle in her approach, kinda showing Kola the 'respect' she rightly deserves!......Its really very nice to watch them together!
Kola's progress is still good. We are convinced she is far more 'aware' this time around!
She is one big lump of a dog now, poor thing, and as this litter is much later in the year is finding the very warm weather an extra burden, and prefers her evenings out on the patio cooling off.
Which is where she was last night around 10pm, when Celia went out to check her and take her temperture, which we do 3 or 4 times a day as its a good indication the pups are coming when her temperture cools drastically. ( In case your all wondering, nope not that way!.... Her temperture is taken inside the ear with a digital thermometer;-).
Anyway..... There Celia was, and, of course, took the oppotunity of a quick cuddle and when she felt her 'bulge'.... yes there was definate movement, first time for this litter!
Of course we have no idea just how many 'babies' will be born yet, but with the sale of each puppy, the new owners will receive the following .......
The Puppy will have had its first innoculation
The Puppy will be microchipped
The Puppy will have 6 weeks free insurance
The Puppy will have been fully wormed, from birth
The puppy will have been 'socialised' as far as possible.... With both children & our cat!!!
The Puppy will be registered with the Kennel Club
The Puppy will have a laminated, 5 generation pedigree supplied
We will supply a dvd of the pups, from the actual birth, through those first important few weeks with mum!
You will also receive a framed picture of your new-born, being hugged by Mum !!!
Lastly you will leave with a puppy pack to die for....... everything we can think of will be supplied to get him/her off to the best possible start!!!
It costs nothing to request to be added to our growing waiting list.
The puppies are priced at £650 each. A non-returnable deposit of £150 (cash or cheque) will reserve your chosen puppy. We will require cash on collection
Kola is doing very well, still in top condition with a shiny coat.....although she is losing handfulls of hair from her belly. This is normal as it will help the pups find her teats!
If anything she is bigger than last time at this stage......beginning to wonder just how many she has in there! We have increased her food by 50%, and cut her exercise down to about half, and exercising Kizzi separatley ...so she can get some peace!
Ok we're getting all prepared here!! Here are the planned Kennel club registered names of each pup. Oh it's ok were are not expecting a record breaking number, but have to allow for an all one sex litter!!! Oh yea,, we noticed too... there is sort of 'K' theme runnig here;-)
OK.. Here We Go......
